Boy, 1, pulled from bathtub in near-drowning incident

A 1-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital following a near-drowning incident in a bathtub on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was deployed about 5.20pm (local time) on Wednesday and landed 15 minutes later at the Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club.

NSW Police escorted the medical crew to the scene at a Dee Why home where NSW Ambulance paramedics were already providing treatment.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and paramedics assessed the patient and stabilised the boy so he could be taken to hospital.

He was airlifted to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition under ongoing observation from the CareFlight team.
