Border Force worker fined over info access

An Australian Border Force employee has been fined after he accessed sensitive information without authorisation.

Jonah Hsu faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday and was convicted on corruption charges.

He was fined $4000.

Integrity Commissioner Jaala Hinchcliffe, who is head of the Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity, welcomed the court's decision.

"This is a reminder of the importance of acting with integrity, particularly when it comes to accessing the sensitive information which is held by Commonwealth agencies," she said.
