Bollywood stars blasted for posting holiday snaps amid Indian Covid crisis
Some of India's most well-known stars are being lashed online for jetting off on holidays to places like the Maldives, as the country is in the grips of a devastating wave of Covid-19 transmissions and deaths.
As India records hundreds of thousands of new cases a day, leaving hospitals overrun, a host of celebrities have taken to social media to share holiday snaps after fleeing the coronavirus ravaged country.
Bollywood actress Disha Patani and actor Tiger Shroff both headed to the popular tropical tourist destination last week.

A day later, Ranbir Kapoor, who is Bollywood's sixth highest paid actor, shared photos on Instagram with his girlfriend Alia Bhatt as they arrived at Mumbai airport on April 19.
"Maldives calling," he captioned the snap.
Both had reportedly only just recovered from coronavirus themselves. The travelling didn't last long though, with the couples forced to return over the weekend, to avoid becoming stranded when a tourism ban was imposed on travel between India to various destinations.
Fans of the stars were appalled by their social media posts with many slamming the move as "shameless" and "insensitive".
"Really pathetic of these guys," one person commented.
"Celebrities showed their true face in times of pandemic," another agreed.
While a third said: "Where the hell these celebs going? When the entire nation is in such a crisis and the govt is imposing lockdowns? Can't their vacations wait for a bit?"
India is in the midst of a devastating surge of Covid-19, recording more than 320,000 new cases of coronavirus infection Tuesday as illness and death grips the country.
Tuesday’s 323,144 new infections raised India’s total past 17.6 million, behind only the United States.
It's a situation which World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has called “beyond heartbreaking".
Hundreds of patients have reportedly died in recent days because hospitals ran short of life-saving oxygen.
Others died on hospital doorsteps begging for air because there were no beds.
