Bodybuilder's chilling last Instagram post before shooting rampage which left him dead

Before embarking on a life-ending shooting spree, 32-year-old Daniel King left behind a series of chilling Instagram posts.

King embarked on a shooting spree on Wednesday night before he was shot dead outside Penrith police station in Sydney’s west.

Police say the shooting spree began when the gunman fired shots into a home in Marayong about 8.45pm.

After shooting at the residential property, King travelled by car to St Marys police station at 9.15pm when he fired shots at the front of the building.

He then drove to Penrith police station, parking outside the front at 9.30pm. He approached officers along High Street, firing further shots.

Police officers then shot him dead.

Not long before he died, King shared a picture of slain rapper Tupac Shakur that read: “A COWARD DIES A THOUSAND DEATHS, A SOLDIER DIES BUT ONCE”, according to News Corp.

Other posts on his Instagram account, which has since been deactivated, alluded to issues with his personal relationships.

He posted a picture of him with a woman who he said he was “indebted to in more ways than u know”.

Another featured a picture of the Joker from Batman.

“Watch out,” the caption read.

He posted a picture of two handguns in July, adding in the caption: “the ones you confided in the most are the biggest rats”.

According to the ABC, the property King shot at is where his former partner Stacey Taylor, who is pregnant with his child, lives.

Ms Taylor sent her three young children to bed shortly before her front door was shot at. She rushed upstairs and hid in her bedroom as the bullets struck the property.

She told Nine News King had been pressuring her to have an abortion prior to the shooting.

“He was actually sending me threats two to three weeks after I told him I was pregnant,” Ms Taylor said outside the front of her home.

She said he threatened self harm if she did not have an abortion.

Deputy Commissioner Jeff Loy said officers showed “empathy” for King as they dragged him into the police station to try and revive him during the “really extreme” incident.

"To shoot upon the police, and wound the police, and force the police to protect themselves and have to return fire is very concerning," he told reporters at the scene.

“The criminality here is extreme."

A fellow bodybuilder wrote on Instagram pleading for people not to judge King on how his life ended.

“It’s a tragic end to his life please don’t let his last actions cloud the judgement of the person he was,” he wrote.

“Mental health affects us all in different ways.”
