The body of a missing woman has been discovered by police.
Abbey Lamont-Salter was reported missing on Monday to officers in Lake Illawarra, south of Wollongong in NSW, after friends and family had not heard from her since Sunday.
The 24-year-old was known to frequent the Lake Illawarra beaches, police said.
Officers said they found her white Toyota Corolla on Otford Road near bushland in Helensburgh at 3pm on Tuesday.
Ms Lamont-Salter’s body was found nearby about 7.30pm, according to NSW Police, who said the death was not suspicious.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
Before her body was found, Ms Lamont-Salter’s sister Casey Knight made a desperate Facebook plea to find the 24-year-old.
“My sister Abbey Lamont has been missing for 72 hours,” Ms Knight said.
“She drives a white Toyota Corolla, it has a banged up headlight, license plate is BOB857.
“At this stage finding her car may give us the most answers so can you please keep an eye out and please SHARE THIS POST!
“I need to find my sister.”
