German hiker missing in remote Western Australia found dead

The body of a man believed to be a 69-year-old missing German tourist has been found in regional Western Australia, police say.

The man's wife had reported him missing while hiking together in the remote Mount Augustus area in the state’s north on Saturday.

They had became separated and a search had been going since then.

On Monday afternoon police confirmed that the body of a man believed to be the missing 69-year-old German man was located deceased.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
