Body found in search for British man Ben Crook who went missing in Turkish resort
A body has been found in the search for a British man who went missing in Turkish resort Antalya on September 25.
Ben Crook was last seen at Seven City Hotel but after a long search a grim update was reported on Sunday morning.
A relative of the 32-year-old Brit said on social media that a body has been found by a search team, reports the Sun.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office confirmed the news on Sunday.
“We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Turkey and we are in contact with the local authorities,” a statement read.
Mr Crook, from Abertridwr in Caerphilly County Borough, was last seen in Kaleici in the city centre of Antalya, wearing a black Versace shirt, shorts and white Niek trainers.
Tributes have been paid online with former school friends saying that they were “gutted” to hear the news.
One said: “Many memories with you brother, will be absolutely devastated with this news till we meet again brother.”
Another added: “Went to school and had a good laugh, gone way too soon lad.”
Antalya is a resort city situated along the Mediterranean Sea and is the fifth most populated in Turkey.
