Body found in search for 87-year-old man with dementia

The body of a man believed to be missing 87-year-old Alexander Henderson, who was deaf and suffering from dementia, has been found in bushland, police have confirmed.

Mr Henderson went missing from his Hillarys home, in Perth’s north, last Thursday afternoon, sparking an intensive search.

In a statement released on Wednesday afternoon, Western Australia Police said a body was found by searchers in bushland south of Mullaloo Drive in Perth’s north.

“Thank you to those who have assisted in the search for Mr Henderson in recent days,” WA Police Force posted to its Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon.

“Sadly, police have discovered the body of a man believed to be Mr Henderson in bushland near Mullaloo Beach this afternoon.

“A report will be prepared for the coroner once investigations into the circumstances are completed.

“Our thoughts are with family and loved ones.”
