Body found in plastic bag on roof of McDonald's restaurant

A man’s body found wrapped in a plastic bag on the roof of a New York City McDonald’s may have been there for days, according to nearby residents.

Officers responding to a 911 call at around 6am on Wednesday found the man’s body inside a bag on the roof of the fast food chain store in the South Bronx, police said.

A maintenance man reportedly found the body of the unidentified man and called for help.

Police sources told the New York Post only half of the man’s body was discovered in the bag, but the gruesome detail has not yet been confirmed.

A nearby resident who identified herself as Marsha told the publication her friend lives in the building overlooking the McDonald’s roof and saw flies surrounding the body.

“The smell was pouring in through the window and the feet were poking out,” Marsha said.

“He looked like he had been there a few days because he was lying all wet in the water from the rain.”

A woman named Nathalia, who works at a pharmacy next door to the McDonald’s, told the New York Post she heard the body had been “thrown from another window into the roof”.

The city medical examiner’s office will determine the man’s cause of death. An investigation is ongoing.
