Bizarre creature washes up on Victorian beach

Residents in Victoria’s southeast have made an “amazing” find on a beach.

Cosy Seaside Escape posted photos on Facebook of a creature, which “came out to sunbake” at Golden Beach in Victoria’s Gippsland region on Saturday.

The creature in question was a cat shark.

The species is a type of bottom feeder which eats small fish. They are not harmful to humans.

One woman called the find “amazing”.

“That’s very cool,” one man wrote.

Another who appeared terrified by the creature said: “I can see why you wouldn’t go swimming.”

The latest find comes after police in Florida managed to reunite a man with a rubber ear found washed up on a beach.

In March, French authorities were left perplexed by a number of Garfield phones kept appearing on the sand.

Eventually, the mystery was solved.
