Bizarre brawl erupts in restaurant after buffet 'runs out of steak'

Wild scenes captured inside a restaurant show customers throwing chairs and staff members ducking for cover over line-cutting and a reported steak shortage.

The fight happened at a Golden Corral buffet restaurant in Pennsylvania and in the video shared to social media, a crowd of people can be seen gathered on one side of the room before things turned physical.

There were more than 40 people were involved in the fight, CBS Eyewitness News reported.

One former employee, Dylan Becker, said he had heard from a current employee that the fight started over steak after one person cut in line.

Mr Becker's friend Gaven Lauletta confirmed this was the case.

“There was a shortage of steak and two parties were involved and one family cut in front of another family, they were taking their time and they ran out of steak and it got into a heated exchange at the tables,” he said.

Another witness told ABC6 the steaks were cooked on demand, and one customer's rare steak was served before another customer's well-done order.

JK Hospitality, LLC, the franchisee of the restaurant reportedly said there were no serious injuries due to the brawl.

"We are aware of an unfortunate disturbance that started between two parties of guests at our franchise restaurant in Bensalem, PA," the statement said.

"We notified the local authorities, and they are investigating the incident. Thankfully, no serious injuries have been reported. The safety of our guests and co-workers is our top priority."

In a statement to the New York Post, Bensalem Public Safety Director William McVey said there were just a few minor injuries due to the scuffle.

The New York Post also reported that most of the patrons involved in the brawl were gone by the time the police got to the scene.
