'Like a movie': Bizarre attack turns front yard into massive rubbish dump
A bizarre attack on a home has turned a couple’s front yard into a rubbish dump.
Neighbours of the home in the Perth suburb of Bayswater said it was like something from a movie as three trucks unloaded tonnes of rubble onto the property during the night.
It wasn’t exactly the housewarming present a young couple were expecting – tree stumps, scrap metal and two-metre-wide concrete blocks deliberately dumped on their driveway.
“Pretty devastating that this has happened so soon to when we’re meant to move in,” home owner Christie said.
Now Christie and her husband don’t know how long it will take to move in, or how much it will cost to clean up the mess.
“It’s pushing back all our plans now,” she said. “It’s hard for tradies to get in and out of the house.”
Neighbours say they heard loud bangs after 7.30pm on Wednesday night.
“My husband ran to the bedroom window and could see two big dump trucks and a semi-trailer dumping a load on our neighbour’s lawn,” neighbour Marina said.
Locals say the baffling attack didn’t take much longer than five minutes, before the three trucks sped off into the night.
“It felt like this was coming from a movie. I wasn’t expecting this at all,” Marina said.
“It’s such a beautiful neighbourhood and seeing this happen just gutted me.”
Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident.
