A motorcycle rider and a female pedestrian have both died after a collision outside a Wollongong shopping centre.

Jack Kinloch, 23, was riding along Cowper Street in Warrawong on Wednesday evening when he crashed into a 58-year-old woman, police say.

The pair were both seriously injured and despite emergency services administering CPR they died at the scene.

Friends of Mr Kinloch, a former student of Kanahooka High School, have posted their tributes on social media.

"I only spoke to you just the other night, I'm going to miss that laugh like crazy and those bear hugs," Illawarra woman Louise Amyy said in a Facebook post.

Nadine Hope Brown said: "I still can't believe this, miss you already. RIP brother ... That laugh."

In a separate post, Erin Lane said she used to babysit Mr Kinloch and his siblings, including his twin brother.

"Sadly reunited way too soon. He will be dearly missed and was much loved brother, son and uncle," Ms Lane said.

A GoFundMe page has been established to fund the 23-year-old's funeral.

"C'mon guys, every bit helps, Jack would have done the same for us," friend Kaine Perkins posted to Facebook.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
