Big W shopper left baffled by typo on Disney baby item: 'Disappointed'

A baffled BIG W shopper has shared a disappointing detail she noticed on a popular Disney baby product she purchased from the store.

The customer shared a photo of the Disney Classics Bubba Blue Reversible Cot Comforter she received from Big W on Facebook, which features an obvious typo in the embroidered slogan.

"Does anyone else's cot comforter have a 'T' instead of an 'I'?" asked the shopper in her post on the popular Facebook group Big W Mums.

Alongside the photo of the Disney comforter she received, the woman shared an image of the product from the Big W website to compare the lettering.

"T slept through the night," reads the shopper's comforter, which is embellished with classic Disney characters including Dumbo, Simba, Bambi and Thumper.

"It's not cheap, so I am really disappointed," added the disgruntled shopper.

The Disney Classics Bubba Blue Reversible Cot Comforter is currently advertised on the Big W website for $59.

With embroidered detailing, the costly cot comforter is said to be "well presented" and "makes a great gift."

The frustrated customer explained she had never been in this situation before and asked fellow shoppers on Facebook whether she was able to get a replacement.

However, she took the blanket blunder in her stride, joking that she would need name recommendations for a child starting with the letter "T" to make use of the comforter. "Just kidding," she joked.

'Mine did too!' Big W shoppers receive comforters with same typo

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the typo on the baby comforter is a one-off, as several shoppers shared similar issues with the product in the comments.

"OMG, I was going to ask the same thing! Mine did too!" wrote one shopper.

"Mine also has a 'T'," wrote another shopper, alongside a photo of an identical typo on the blanket.

While a third shopper assured the woman she was able to exchange it regardless of the text.

"I got one that is correct and exchanged with no problem," she wrote, adding: "I had to open three before I found one that was right."

Other customers showed their support by labelling the blanket "faulty" and "a dud" and urging the woman to exchange it.

"You will be able to swap it as long as you have the receipt as that's definitely a manufacturer issue," wrote one shopper.

Name change required?

"I would have left it. Every year, just for a few laughs," responded one amused shopper.

While others joked it might be easier just to change her child's name to one starting with "T" rather than exchange it.

"You're going to have to change your kids name to 'T' now," joked one shopper.

"Would you consider changing your child's name to T? It's probably easier than getting a refund from Big W?" joked a second.

The woman responded to the comment, saying: "A [new] birth certificate is cheaper too."

Big W offers refund to disappointed customers

A spokesperson for Big W has told Yahoo Lifestyle that unsatisfied customers can receive a refund for the faulty comforter if they provide proof of purchase.

"We are aware of this issue and apologise to our customers for any disappointment caused," the spokesperson said. "We'll take the opportunity to review processes to make sure this doesn't happen again."

Customers can call the Big W customer service line on 1300 244 999, contact the retailer via its website, or go in store for a refund.

'CHRITSTMAS': Big W shopper shares similar hilarious product fails

However, not everyone shared the shopper's frustration with the product typo and some group members took the opportunity to share their own hilarious tales of Big W product fails.

One shopper posted a photo of a faulty Christmas bunting she bought previously from Big W that was spelled with an extra "T."

"This reminds me of a Christmas bunting sign I bought from Big W. It was spelt incorrectly, it was "CHRITSTMAS." Lucky I just cut the extra 'T' out," laughed the customer.
