Beyoncé's BeyGOOD Foundation Donates $2.5 Million to L.A. Wildfire Relief
Beyoncé is the latest A-lister to put her hard-earned cash toward L.A.'s wildfire relief efforts after the tragic fires lit up the Pacific Palisades on January 7. The Grammy winner donated $2.5 million through her BeyGOOD Foundation, according to a recent Instagram post from the organization.
"BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a donation of 2.5 million dollars," the caption reads. "The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires."
The organization, which was founded in 2013, also encouraged fans and followers to show their support for impacted families by submitting donations through its official website.
Beyoncé's generous donation comes after her mom, Tina Knowles, shared that her Malibu home was burned down in the Pacific Palisades fire.
"This is what I was looking at on my birthday this past weekend from my tiny little bungalow on the water in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now it is gone!!" Tina wrote, thanking firefighters and first responders who have helped the Los Angeles community during the wildfires.
"I am praying diligently for our beautiful City of Los Angeles!! We are resilient though and we will recover!" she closed out her message.
Bey is one of the many celebs stepping up for the L.A. community amid the troubled times. Stars like Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande have shared resources with their millions of followers across social media, while Halle Berry, Jamie Lee Curtis, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle have generously donated clothing and money to those affected.
