Banks wins open Indiana Senate race
Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) has won the race to be Indiana’s next senator, replacing outgoing Sen. Mike Braun (R), Decision Desk HQ projects.
Banks easily defeated Democrat Valerie McCray in the solidly red state, as expected. Braun decided against running for a second term in the Senate to instead run for governor, a race that he won.
Banks, who has represented Indiana’s 3rd Congressional District in the House since 2017, will join Sen. Todd Young in the Senate representing the state.
