An 18-year-old charged with the attempted murder of former Mongols bikie Sam Abdulrahim has been remanded in custody, but will try for bail.
Epping man Yasir Al Qassim was arrested in raids on Monday morning.
He has also been charged with theft of motor vehicle, driving whilst suspended and another offence.
In a brief hearing on Monday evening, Melbourne Magistrates Court was told this is his first time in custody.
He will apply for bail on Friday.
Mr Abdulrahim was repeatedly shot as he left a cemetery in Melbourne's north in June.
He suffered four bullet wounds to his chest but survived the attack.
Police say the suspected gunmen involved in the shooting fled Australia in the 48 hours after the incident.
