WARNING – CONFRONTING IMAGES: A man and his fiancé have rescued a baby girl from a hot car after her parents were collapsed on the road passed out from a heroin overdose.
Eric Asher, from Ohio in the US, shared shocking photos to his Facebook page of his partner holding the baby and giving her sips of water as her parents lie on the asphalt next to the car.
He said the little girl was sweating in the back of the vehicle as the temperature reached over 31 degrees.
“We were driving down the road and I looked over to my right and I saw the male and female laying on the ground,” Mr Asher told Inside Edition.
“We later saw that they were purple.
“The child was covered in sweat. We gave the baby some water – that was our priority.”
Another bystander called emergency services who attended to the parents.
Mr Asher said the mother later rang to thank the couple for saving the child. The baby is now in the care of a relative.
He said he shared the photos on Facebook to raise awareness to the drug epidemic.
“Well lord put us at the right place at the right time, heroin overdose baby trapped in car, me and my baby busted baby out waiting for help what’s this world coming to?” he captioned the pictures.
