The West Australian has reported forensics officers were seen focusing on one classroom and a white van on the grounds of the school, which was examined and then towed away by police.

Officers were seen searching the area by torchlight late into the night on Wednesday, WA Today reported.

The school is closed for holidays until next week, but an after-hours childcare facility was still operating, The West reported.

It is unclear whether it will be running on Thursday.

A nearby resident told the publication children had been picked up from the school earlier that day.

Kingsway Christian College is a top private school, located about 18km from Perth's CBD, which teaches girls and boys from kindergarten to year 12.
