Baby dies after 'waiting hours' to see doctor at hospital

A baby has died at a Melbourne hospital emergency department, sparking an internal review and coronial referral.

The infant was taken to Sunshine Hospital in the city’s west last week, 7 News reported.

A triage nurse assessed the baby before its mother was told to wait in a room where she stayed with her baby for close to two hours.
