Baby dies on flight to Perth

A baby has died on board an international flight bound for Perth.

The two-month-old was a passenger on AirAsia flight D7236 from Kuala Lumpur on Monday morning but died during the flight after a medical emergency.

“The safety and well being of our guests is always our number one priority, and in accordance with procedure, the flight crew requested medical assistance on landing at Perth International Airport,” an AirAsia spokesman told Yahoo News Australia.

“Upon arrival, the aircraft was met by a team of medical specialists and the relevant authorities, including the Western Australia Police.

“We are unable to comment further on the infants' medical situation, however, our thoughts are with the infant and family involved.”
