Australians take nude plunge for winter solstice swim

STORY: An air temperature of five degrees did not deter the red capped revellers from sprinting into the Derwent River off Long Beach in Hobart to mark the longest night of the year.

Dark Mofo is Hobart's Museum of Old and New Art (MONA)'s winter festival, which celebrates old solstice traditions and rituals. The swim was first held in 2013 and has surged in popularity since.

Tickets for the event were sold out shortly after release.
