'Never going to Australia’: TikToker stuns with spider count

An Aussie TikToker has gone viral after showcasing the scores of inhabitants he shares his home with.

Jorden Tually, a travel influencer, has a following of 2.3 million on TikTok and in January he challenged himself to see how many spiders he could find in just 10 minutes.

In the video, Jorden walks out his front door and immediately finds a large spider before heading to his garage.

Inside Jorden finds several eight-legged creatures but predicts there's far more hiding.

"There's at least 100 spiders in this garage alone," he predicts.

Moving under his house, he reveals it's not just spiders he's living with. Tucked away inside a cupboard, Jorden points out a puzzled-looking possum.

The brief sample of animals in and around his home prompted several people in his comments to say they would never travel Down Under.

"I would never be able to live in Australia," one person said.

"Ok, never going to Australia," another added.

In a second video, Jorden then went on to find more spiders around his home.

"I know these videos are scaring people from coming to Australia but honestly, it's not that bad," he reassures his viewers.

Revisiting the possum, he warns looks can be deceiving.

"He looks really calm and cute, but if I tried to go in any further, he'd probably just scratched the heck out of me," he says.

And despite the raft of spiders, he says they can play an important role in homes across Australia.

"Everyone freaks out about spiders but they're actually good because they eat all the bugs and mosquitoes," he says.

Despite his message about spiders being useful, some users were still put off. One person said if they lived in Jorden's home, "spider heaven" would be set alight.

Jorden seems to be unfazed by Australia's wildlife and often goes out seeking the creatures which traditionally cause panic to those who encounter them.

He's shown people how to feed a spider and even gone out looking for snakes. He's also tracked down a nest of bulldog ants, which can kill humans.
