Good morning.

Australia has four confirmed cases of the virus, with a fifth suspected.

Sugar tax: Health Minister Greg Hunt has shut down calls for a tax on sugary drinks.

“We don't think driving up the price of household goods for families is the way of achieving this [health] outcome,” he said on Monday. His words came after Australian of the Year James Muecke called for people to avoid excessive sugar consumption.

What’s open today? It’s a public holiday. Here’s where you can get your shopping done for that last-minute barbeque.

Don’t do that: Australian women retire with close to half the savings of men. Here are three ways to change that.

Suburbs with the highest life expectancy: An average Australian girl born today will live to 84.9 years, but some suburbs have higher life expectancies than others.

Another date for Australia Day: The Wattle Day Association has suggested a different date for Australia Day, as has athlete and former Labor senator Nova Peris. Here’s what they suggested.

$28.6 million photo: Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston met backstage at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and boy are there photos to prove it. According to Apex Marketing Group, that reunion picture would have seen the two score a massive $28.6 million in brand value.
