Aussie millionaire defies odds, wins lottery a second time in two years
The Melbourne man, likely the envy of many Australians this week, said he'll use his new winnings to purchase a car, two years after he won $1 million.
It doesn't get much luckier than this.
An extremely fortunate Australian man has claimed an incredible $100,000 in this week's Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw — a little over two years after he won a cool $1 million in a previous competition.
The Melbourne man became an overnight millionaire on September 14 in 2022, bagging $1 million in the Weekday Windfall draw. But as if that wasn't enough, lightning struck again this week, two years and one month after his initial win.
Unsurprisingly, the man was left in total shock upon receiving the call from The Lott officials for a second time on Monday after winning $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries.
"It’s so nice speaking to you again – it’s been two years," he joked to lottery officials over the phone.
"Winning last time really changed my life. I was in such a horrible position, and it really brought some happiness into my life. I was able to buy a place and support my partner. I truly feel so blessed. I am a lucky man to win twice."
"I remember looking up the odds the first time I won division one ... and now I’ve won again," he said in disbelief.
Admitting he's now "twice as blessed", the man said he plans on buying a new car and renovating his bathroom. "I need to buy a new car, and this has come in handy."
The Melbourne player's winning entry of six random numbers was purchased via The Lott app.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $2.68 million for draw 1689, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $5.70 million for draw 10884. This financial year, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia have collected more than $53.4 million.
