Aunt's tearful tribute to 'little princess', 8, who died in crash

The family of an eight-year-old girl killed in a car crash in Queensland’s Bundaberg Region have paid tribute to their little girl.

Olivia Douglas, of Oxenford, tragically died in a car crash on Friday.

Her aunt, Liz Mitchell, was brought to tears as she spoke about Olivia.

“Olivia is and always will be our bright and bubbly, sensitive and sweet little princess,” she said.

“Who lived, laughed, loved in all that she did.”

Olivia was travelling with her family to Bundaberg to watch her brother play in a school netball tournament when the car she was travelling in collided head-on with a ute on the Bruce Highway just outside Childers.

Her parents were travelling in the car behind Olivia.

The Coomera Netball Club has offered its deepest condolences.

It has set up a GoFundMe page and is collecting donations to help support the family.

A memorial has been erected at Oxenford State School with flowers and letters from former classmates and residents.
