'Big girl': Ashley Graham's naked selfie sparks debate

Supermodel Ashely Graham has caused quite the debate after deciding to strip down to bare all in a naked selfie shared on her Instagram page.

“Nakie big girl,” the 32-year-old model captioned the racy snap.

Ashley, who welcomed her son Isaac in January, posed in front of her bathroom mirror using her arms and the sink to cover her private parts.

The photo received plenty of love from her follows getting over 1.3M likes in just 24 hours.

“Hot mama,” one person commented.

“Perfection,” another said.

Though the photo also sparked some debate with a few fans lamenting the fact she had even referred to herself as “big”.

“I hate that this is seen as ‘big girl’ I see nothing but a beautiful, naturally curvy woman in all her glory..... super sexy and womanly,” was one response.

While another said: “Nakie *normal* girl.”

Ashley herself responded to the criticism defending her use of the word.

“I hear what you’re saying. But if you look at ‘big’ as a positive or love then you can see it like I do. I love my big strong beautiful body,” she said, a comment praised by her followers.

Ashley, who was very open about her pregnancy journey online, also shared a throwback picture of herself wearing maternity pants and posing with the “amazing” women who made her “labour and delivery so smooth”.

In the accompanying caption, the body positive advocate paid tribute to the team who helped support her while she was giving birth.

“Can’t believe Isaac is nine months today! Nine months in, nine months out,” she wrote. “Thank you to this phenomenal team for making my labor and delivery so smooth. We are so lucky to have the support from these amazing women!”

Since welcoming her baby earlier this year, the Graham, 32, has been regularly praised for helping other mums have the confidence to embrace their post-pregnancy bodies.
