Arrests after four-car crash puts man in hospital

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of multiple driving offences after a four-car crash left one person seriously ill in hospital.

Gwent Police said it happened along the A468 near Trecenydd in Caerphilly at at 19:25BST on Saturday.

On Monday police said a 68-year-old man remains in hospital in a "serious but stable" condition.

Two 18-year-old men from Llanbradach and Treharris have since been released under investigation.

The police have appealed for witnesses who saw the manner in which the cars were being driven before the incident between the Trecenydd roundabout and the Cedar Tree Roundabout.

The collision involved a silver Kia Sorento, a red Fiat 500, a blue Toyota Yaris and a blue Vauxhall Corsa.

The occupants of three of the cars were taken to hospital for treatment, and two of them have since been released.
