Family's desperate plea after Kiwi man mysteriously disappears in Sydney
The family of a Kiwi national who has been missing in Sydney for more than a week have pleaded for information as they search for the “larger than life character”.
New Zealand man Andrew Olphert, 35, was last seen at his home on Darwin Avenue in the Sydney southeast suburb of Little Bay at 7.30am on June 17.
His worried family contacted police when he failed to return home, holding concerns for his welfare.
The man’s mother Lin and brother Simon have now made a desperate appeal for information that might help them find the man.
“He’s a larger than life character,” an emotional Ms Olphert said.
“Hearts are breaking now as we go into our tenth day.
“Hearts are breaking as we look everywhere for you.”
Mr Olphert’s brother Simon described the missing man as “absolutely loved”.
“He’s always there when you need him – except this time, he’s not there. We need to find him,” he added with a heavy heart.
Mr Olphert is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175 to 180cm tall with a medium build and brown hair.
He was clean shaven when he was last seen, wearing a navy and white striped jumper with dark-coloured pants.
