Appeal to find trio who 'witnessed' 22-year-old's death

Police are urging three potential witnesses to a young Adelaide man’s death to come forward.

The three women who detectives believe passed by in a taxi were dropped off in the Glenelg area on the morning of the incident, but police have been unable to identify them.

Reece Andrew Watherston appeared in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday in relation to the incident in December which claimed the life of 22-year-old Jack Hanley.

A prosecutor told the court the toxicology report was expected by the end of June.

Watherston was remanded on continuing home detention bail to answer the charge on July 26.

It’s alleged the 20-year-old was among a group of five young men who became involved in an altercation with a group of 10 people.

Defence counsel Eugene McGee told the court previously that the early-morning incident in Hindley Street was not one involving an unprovoked attack.

Police ask the women in the taxi or anyone who has other information that may assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the online reporting page.
