Before his sudden death, Anthony Bourdain was in an impassioned relationship with Italian actress Asia Argento.
They were said to be “madly in love”, however, one alleged friend is claiming that the extent of that passion was somewhat concerning.
“He would have done anything for her, and that was a little red flag for some of his friends,” the unnamed source told People.
“[He was] like a teenage boy just absolutely lovestruck… Like, he was crazy in love with her, crazy being the keyword,” they continued.
Bourdain and Argento began dating after they met while taping an episode of his show Parts Unknown in 2016.
Following the announcement of the TV chef’s death by suicide, Argento released a statement via Twitter.
“Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did,” the statement read. “His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was my love, my rock, my protector. I am beyond devastated. My thoughts are with his family. I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine.”
Bourdain’s second wife and the mother of his only child, Ottavia Busia-Bourdain, broke her silence on Sunday.
She shared a photo of their 11-year-old daughter, Ariane, standing in front of a microphone performing onstage with her peers.
“Our little girl had her concert today,” Busia-Bourdain wrote. “She was amazing. So strong and brave. She wore the boots you bought her.”
She ended the post by writing, “I hope you are having a good trip, wherever you are.”
