'Timeless' Angela Bassett shuts down Oscars red carpet: 'Aging better than wine'

When it comes to aging gracefully, few stars are pulling it off quite as well as Angela Bassett.

The 62-year-old Oscars presenter hit the red carpet for the 2021 Academy Awards on Sunday night, and fans online couldn’t get enough of her breathtaking style.

Dressed in a vibrant red Alberta Ferretti gown with dramatic puffed sleeves, the “Black Panther” actress wowed the red carpet and set Twitter ablaze with her head-turning red carpet look.

“Give an Academy Award to Angela Bassett simply [because] she looks like this,” raved one Twitter user.

Fans online have were quick to call her the best-dressed of the night’s red carpet event, while others were shocked by the star’s seemingly ageless appearance.

In a touching red carpet moment, Bassett also took time to remember her “Black Panther” co-star Chadwick Boseman, who was nominated for an Academy Award posthumously for his role in "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom."

Recalling her “dear son,” Bassett shared that she misses Boseman’s “great big spirit, his heart.”

“He cared so much for people, was the ultimate professional, and he had the most amazing laugh,” she added.
