Analysis: Bournemouth 2-0 Newcastle

Emma Sanders, BBC Sport

Bournemouth are starting to create some form at home with this their second successive victory in the Premier League at Vitality Stadium - and it was richly deserved.

They could have scored twice in the opening two minutes but in the end, needed an hour to break the deadlock against a lacklustre Newcastle side, hit with injuries.

Bournemouth imposed themselves from the start, forcing Newcastle into mistakes, while keeping goalkeeper Nick Pope busy throughout.

Antoine Semenyo, Ryan Christie and Solanke were all denied before the latter eventually got his double and from then on, it was cruise control for the hosts.

Solanke's form this season will be crucial for Bournemouth's survival hopes and so far he is delivering, netting his sixth Premier League goal of the campaign.

Newcastle, hit by countless injuries and fatigued by their Champions League defeat by Borussia Dortmund this week, never got a foothold in the game and Bournemouth's only frustration will be that they did not win with a bigger scoreline.
