Woman struck by bus in Bondi dies in hospital

A 29-year-old woman has died in hospital after she was hit by a bus in Sydney's Bondi.

Amy Holden was admitted to St Vincent's Hospital in a critical condition, with suspected head injuries, after she was struck by the bus about 7pm on Tuesday.

She died in hospital on Friday morning.

In the wake of her death, friends and family have taken to social media to express their grief.

"You will be deeply missed and remembered for the uplifting, kind person that you were," one wrote on Facebook.

"We love you very much girl, we will see you again soon."

Another woman said Ms Holden passed away "pain free" and with her loved ones by her side.

"She was the kindest, most loving person I know," she wrote.

Police say the bus was travelling on Curlewis Street when it struck the woman as it approached the intersection at Old South Head Rd.

There were no passengers on board and the driver was taken for mandatory blood and urine testing.

A police investigation into the incident is continuing.
