Ammonia leak at Melbourne centre located

After almost five hours, 38 firefighters have brought an ammonia gas leak under control at a major supermarket's distribution centre in Melbourne's west.

Frew crews with breathing apparatus were called to the Coles Distribution Centre in Truganina about 12.40pm on Sunday before locating and isolating the leak. They left the scene about 5.30pm.

Staff, who were forced to evacuate, have been able to go back inside, a Metropolitan Fire Brigade spokesman said.
