A man has been charged with taking an eight-year-old girl from a Child Safety Service Centre on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The girl’s alleged abduction from the facility saw a statewide amber alert issued on Thursday.

Police allege the man was known to the girl.

The eight-year-old was located “safe and well” at an Eerwah Vale property, between the Sunshine Coast and Noosa regions, at about 6pm Thursday.

The 44-year-old Coolum Beach man has since been charged with child stealing and trespassing.
