Young boys found safe after amber alert issued

UPDATE: Queensland Police has confirmed both boys have been located at a Benowa address and are safe and well.

ORIGINAL STORY: There are fears for the safety of two young boys on the Gold Coast with police issuing an amber alert.

The boys, aged 10 and 6, were taken from Linfield Rod, Helensvale, just before midday, police said.

Police said a woman was seen putting them in a black 2012 Holden Commodore.

The car is believed to be heading toward the Broadbeach Waters area on the Gold Coast.

The boys are Caucasian in appearance and the woman is described as Caucasian, with blonde hair, brown eyes,165cm tall with a large build.

She is known to the children, police said.
