NEW SINGLE SAD

Sad is a song Alyce penned when Woolworths used to be Safeway in St. Kilda. “I’m not sure why, but there seems to be a bit of a Russian

theme to my stories and songs” says Alyce. “This one is about a charming polite gentle Russian man who used to work at the checkout

in Safeway in St. Kilda. I remember him holding my hand one day and kissing it after I paid for my groceries. His hands were soft and his eyes were kind. He wore small round glasses and had a very lovely smile.

There was something about him…he seemed displaced. He was coated in sweet beautiful melancholy, but tinged with a tarnish of the KGB!
