'Always in our heart': Family heartbroken after girl, 10, killed in quad bike accident
The uncle of a young girl who died after a quad bike crashed on a Wollongong farm has described the the 10-year-old as an “angel in heaven” after she succumbed to her injuries.
Dalal Abu Lokmeh was airlifted to hospital two days ago with critical injuries after the all-terrain vehicle (ATV) she was a passenger on crashed with two other children and an adult on board.
About 10.20am on Sunday, emergency services were called to a property in Marshall Mount in Wollongong on reports a young girl had been injured in a crash involving an ATV.
Police were told the driver lost control and crashed into a fence with three passengers on board.

Dalal, from Birrong, was airlifted to the Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick where she died on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old female driver, from Marshall Mount, was taken to Wollongong Hospital with minor injuries and underwent mandatory testing.
Two 11-year-old girls were also treated for minor injuries.
A number of people were staying together on the property, a police spokeswoman said.
Dalal’s uncle Nebal El Jamal confirmed the tragic news the little girl died in the early hours of Tuesday morning, calling her a “bird in heaven”.
“Tuesday 19/02/2019 0128 am God and her cute lovely tired heart have given up on all of us,” he wrote on Facebook.
“#loulou u will be always in our heart no matter Wat [sic]. #sleep_in_ease little angel”.
Dala’s Islamic school in Liverpool paid tribute to the student asking Allah to “grant her a high status in Paradise”.
“Al Amanah College staff members, students, parents and the whole community extend their deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the family of Abu Lokmeh on the passing away of their beloved daughter.”
Those close to the family have also shared their condolences on Facebook in the wake of the tragedy.
“Sorry to hear about your loss may god rest her soul RIP little angel,” wrote one.
Another added: “Another angel in heaven bro, god bless.”
An investigation is under way into the events leading up to the crash.
