Alison Hammond reveals late mum gives her advice like 'he's no good'
This Morning star Hammond said she hears late mother Maria talking to her all the time
What did you miss?
Alison Hammond has told how she hears her late mum giving her tips on her love life. This Morning presenter Hammond’s mum Maria died in 2020 after being diagnosed with cancer. The star has now penned her first book, Bombshell, and revealed that, like her, the main character's mother has died.
She said she included segments in the book where Madison’s mum spoke to her.
What, how and why?
Discussing her book on The One Show, Hammond said: "It's dedicated to her (Hammond's mother) but she didn’t get to see it, but Madison the character, her mum has also passed away.
"There are moments in the book where Madison's mum talks to her and that happens to me all the time. Like, I hear my mum giving me advice going, 'No no, he’s no good'."
Bombshell is about a woman trying to find out what’s going on after her husband suddenly leaves her. Bake Off presenter Hammond said she penned the story from her own experiences.

"Madison lives in my head," she said. "The only experiences I’ve got is my life, so obviously everything that goes on in this book is from my head or from people I know in the industry who have told me a little bit of gossip.
"It is from my own experiences but it’s just the right amount of drama!"
Alison Hammond took son's advice and rewrote ending
Hammond also told how she reworked the ending of Bombshell after advice from Aidan, her 19-year-old DJ son.
She explained that he was reading bits as she went along and didn't like her plan for the conclusion.
"Towards the end because basically I wanted to kill off the main character… But I didn’t kill him off in the end, because he was like, what are you doing?" She said.
"He is always putting his two pennies worth in anyway. He will watch me on the TV and go, 'You shouldn’t have said that.' So he read it as it went along and he was like, 'Mum change the ending' and I was like, 'OK.' If he says it, it puts it in my head and then I have got to change the ending. It was good advice."
The One Show airs on BBC One at 7pm on weekdays.
