'Crazy' scenes as Aldi snow sale causes shopper frenzy
It's one of the biggest shopping events on the calendar for Aldi customers and considering last year's snow gear Special Buys sale was cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it was always going to be chaotic at stores this year.
However, a video posted to TikTok shows customers queuing for hours outside the Leichhardt shop in MarketPlace, Sydney, waiting for it to open so they could get their hands on a bargain.

The video starts with the woman, who goes by the name @carinastathis, explaining that she decided to get to her local Aldi early at 8:15AM for the annual ski sale.

But she was shocked when she got to the shop and saw a massive queue snaking around the shopping centre.
“It just keeps going,” she wrote in the captions on the video. “Send help”.
However, with only so much stock available, not everyone left a happy customer, with people taking to the comments section to vent their frustration.
“At my Aldi it was cleared out at 8:31AM,” one person said, claiming there were people putting “10 of everything in their cart”.
Others who managed to get their hands on the cheap threads were delighted with their purchases.
“I got the shoes they so damn good and top quality good brand too,” one person said.

“You call 8:15 early when there is a sale?” another person wrote.
One person revealed her brother had to work a 12 hour shift because of the ‘crazy sale’, with another person saying the Saturday Special Buys sales are worse.
Aldi caught customers’ attention this year with their annual ski sale. Ski bunnies could snap up a huge selection of high-quality adult and children’s gear, from pants to jackets, helmets to goggles and even thermal underwear all for under $139.99.
Prices were so low that the German retailer reckons a family of four can deck themselves out head-to-toe for the slopes for less than $1,000.
