Aldi shopper's 'amazing' hack for making 28 healthy meals for $106

Feeding a big family is expensive, but one Aussie mum has revealed how she makes dinner for her clan of four for just $106 a week, by shopping at Aldi.

The Aldi shopper, who runs the My Family Eats instagram page, has showed how a relatively inexpensive shop can make seven delicious dinners for a hungry family.

The menu across the week includes Mexican chicken taco bowls, chicken Greek bowls, fish soft tacos with coleslaw, pumpkin tortellini with creamy spinach sauce, gnocchi bake, meatball subs and salad, and Char Siu pork with lemongrass rice and broccolini.

Nutritious dishes

The Aldi shopper's secret to making the budget stretch as far as possible is splitting up ingredients to make them in to different meals.

She divides up a pack of four large chicken breasts so she can make Mexican chicken bowls one night, and Greek chicken bowls another night. She adds a brown rice and quinoa mix, plus salad to the Greek chicken dish to make it go further.

To add flavour to the Mexican bowls, she takes the Mexican seasoning out of a taco kit, saving the rest of the ingredients to make fish tacos another night. The meal is finished off with corn chips, diced tomatoes, black beans and corn.

Staple tinned and packet ingredients such as black beans, sweetcorn, and the taco kit are from Aldi's El Tora range.

She provides the family's vegetable intake from basic ingredients such as tomato, cucumber, red onion, spinach, a coleslaw pack and broccolini.
