Two massive searches have so far failed to find two men who have gone missing off the Queensland coast in separate boating incidents.
A 60-year-old man has been missing since 3am Tuesday after he tried to swim for a boat that was dragging its anchor about 15km off Yeppoon.
He and a 62-year-old mate initially tried to chase the seven-metre boat in an inflatable dingy before trying to swim to the boat.
Only the 62-year-old made it.
He set off a flare to alert authorities, who have been scouring the area since.
They have found the inflatable dinghy and a life jacket, but have failed to locate the missing man.
About 1000km north another search has been underway since Tuesday evening for a man missing in waters off Innisfail.
Authorities were alerted after a boat belonging to the man was found drifting in the mouth of the Johnstone River about 6.40pm.
Water police, volunteer coast guard, helicopters and fixed wing aircraft have spent Wednesday scouring a 250 square nautical mile area between South Barnard Islands to Cooper Point.
They have so far failed to find any further sign of the man.
Police are appealing to any boaties who were in the area on Tuesday that might have seen a white 5.6-metre Bar Crusher vessel with a maroon stripe and a Suzuki outboard motor to contact them..
