Four walkers trapped on a ledge have been rescued by air overnight on Victoria's Great Ocean Road amid strong winds.
The Police Airwing was called on Tuesday night after officers were told two men, both aged 73, and two women aged 49 and 51 were forced to the ocean's edge by a scrub fire while on a coastal walk.
The group tried to reach Johanna Beach but became trapped on a rock ledge by the rising tide.
They managed to contact emergency services just before 7pm and the Airwing was sent and winched them to safety about 10pm.
A man and woman in the walking party showed initial signs of hypothermia and were taken to a waiting ambulance, while the other members of the group were not injured.
