The brother of slain Islamic State fighter Mohamed Elomar has won his appeal over a conviction for threatening to kill a spectator at a Sydney junior soccer match.

Ahmed Elomar, 34, was jailed for at least seven months in February after being found guilty of threatening the spectator at the May 2017 match in Raby.

But on Thursday at Campbelltown District Court, Acting Judge Norman Delaney set aside the intimidation conviction.
