Adoptive Parents Arrested on Suspicion of Murder and Torture of 10-Year-Old Boy
Alejandra Marin and Juan Sanchez Moreno were arrested after their adoptive son was found in "medical distress" and later died on Nov. 21
A man and woman are facing legal troubles following the death of their 10-year-old adopted son, authorities said.
Alejandra Marin, 51, and Juan Sanchez Moreno, 59, were arrested and charged with murder, torture and child abuse after the young boy died at a local hospital on Thursday, Nov. 21, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The child, whose identity is not being released, was initially found in “medical distress” by deputies at a residence in Moreno Valley earlier in the day.
An initial investigation into the boy’s death “revealed signs of possible neglect and abuse.” Following this discovery, the Riverside Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit was called in to join the investigation, the release said.
