A large sinkhole near an oval in Adelaide’s inner north-western suburbs has swallowed a stobie pole.

The sinkhole on Actil Avenue at Woodville was caused by a collapsed stormwater drain several metres underground.

The pole dropped about three metres into the hole leaving it leaning at a precarious angle.

Authorities are at the scene near the St Clair Oval working to repair the damage.
