Adelaide driver five times over the limit

A disqualified driver in an unregistered car has allegedly blown five times the legal alcohol limit in Adelaide.

Police say the Highbury man returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.277 and was driving while disqualified in an unregistered car, after he was breathalysed at Payneham about 4.30am on Monday.

The 31-year-old will be summonsed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a date to be set.
