Accused Vic ISIS financer to stand trial

Isa Kocoglu will stand trial accused of funnelling cash to an Islamic State fighter

A Melbourne disability pensioner has been ordered to stand trial accused of funding an American-born Islamic State fighter and propagandist.

Isa Kocoglu, 44, allegedly sent almost $4000 with online payment system PayPal to known jihadist Yahya al-Bahrumi, born in Texas as John Georgelas, between November 2013 and August 2014.

Kocoglu, who is on a pension because of his obesity and mental health issues, faced a hearing in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday and was committed to stand trial on seven charges.
