Accused kidnapper 'celebrated Christmas with family as teen remained hidden under bed'

An alleged kidnapper held a Christmas Day party at his home while his victim lay undetected under his bed, a source has revealed.

Jake Patterson, 21, invited his father, sister and their partners to his home in Gordon, Wisconsin on December while 13-year-old Jayme Closs was allegedly trapped under his bed, a source revealed to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

He allegedly told the teen he’d kill her if she was detected by his family, the source claimed.

“The family was there,” they told to the publication.

“He told her that if she made a noise or tried to escape, he would kill her.”

The guests descended on the home, 100km north of Jayme’s home town of Barron, where Patterson had allegedly kidnapped the girl in October.

Jayme allegedly spent a further 16 days in captivity before managing to break free and running from the home on January 10.

She came across a pedestrian, who then contacted police when she told her she had been kidnapped.

Patterson is also accused of shooting dead both Jayme’s parents prior to her alleged capture.

Investigators believe Patterson broke into the Closs home before shooting her father and then her mother in front of Jayme.

He is alleged to have abducted the girl, tying her at the wrists and ankles and covering her mouth with tape, before holding her for nearly three months.

According to court documents, Patterson told detectives he spotted Jayme getting on a school bus one day and decided he would take her.

Patterson has been charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and one count of kidnapping.

It has since been revealed police were just 20 seconds from rescuing Jayme and unwittingly passed the car she was allegedly abducted in.
